Our kids guitar class at Keen School of Music is designed to remove early frustration and replace it with real progress by using "Baby Chords." In this beginner-focused class, students will learn simplified chord versions that allow them to start playing actual songs right away.
When children experience success early, their motivation and confidence grow quickly. This workshop is structured to make that happen.

"Baby Chords?"
How do "Baby Chords" work?
“Baby chords” are simplified versions of full guitar chords that use just one or two fingers instead of three or four. Traditional chord shapes can be physically challenging for young hands, often requiring strength and stretch that beginners have not yet developed.
This approach removes one of the biggest early barriers in guitar learning. Instead of feeling stuck or discouraged, students experience immediate progress.
As their hands grow stronger and coordination improves, they can naturally transition into full chord shapes with greater ease and confidence.
Meet the Teacher
Sarah Eitel
Sarah Eitel is a multi-instrumentalist and instructor at Keen School of Music, teaching guitar, voice, bass, ukulele, piano, and songwriting. She is passionate about helping young musicians feel capable and confident from the very beginning.
Sarah brings a patient, encouraging teaching style that balances structure with creativity. She understands that early success matters, especially for beginners, and she is intentional about breaking skills into manageable steps that help students progress without feeling overwhelmed.
In the Baby Chords Workshop, Sarah creates an environment that is supportive, engaging, and focused on real results.
Students leave not only having learned new skills, but believing they can continue to grow.
