On Sunday, July 27th, the Keen School of Music community gathered for one of our favorite moments of the year. The 2025 Summer Rock-Ready Show lit up Starstruck Farm with an evening of live music, confidence, and seriously impressive performances from our Rock-Ready bands.
Students of all ages took the stage, representing a wide range of rock styles from classic rock and metal to emo and modern alternative. Friends, families, and supporters filled the space with encouragement, turning the night into a celebration of growth, teamwork, and the courage it takes to perform live.
This show was about much more than songs. It was about watching students come into their own and seeing them hone their craft.
Starstruck Farm: A Perfect Venue for Live Music from a Music School

Located in Lebanon just outside of Nashville, Starstruck Farm offered the perfect backdrop for this special night. With its rustic charm, welcoming atmosphere, and deep ties to Tennessee’s music culture (including once being owned by Reba McEntire), the farm created a setting that acted as the a fun new backdrop for the Rock-Ready bands.

Hollow Pines
The first band to take the stage was Hollow Pines, an adult/older teen Rock-Ready student band. Their setlist featured classic rock hits from the 60s and 70s, including:
“Wild Horses” by The Rolling Stones
“White Room” by Cream
“Come and Get Your Love” by Redbone
What made Hollow Pines especially memorable was their use of saxophone. The added texture brought a soulful edge to their sound. Their classical rock set was great way to open the show!

Just Because
Next up was Just Because, a lively group of kids aged 12 and under. Their energy was contagious as they played rock tunes from the 90s and early 2000s, including:
“Sabotage” by Beastie Boys
“Drive” by Incubus
"She" by Green Day
Watching these young musicians perform with such confidence was a highlight of the night. They reminded everyone that rock music is for all ages and that a confident stage presence can be learned early when students are supported and encouraged. Parents in the crowd were treated to a fun dose of nostalgia with the students 90's inspired setlist.

Ozzy Guy
Ozzy Guy took the stage next and brought the volume way up. This teen metal band delivered a powerful, high-intensity set that included:
“The Trooper” by Iron Maiden
“Papercut” by Linkin Park
"Of Wolf and Man" by Metallica
"Man in the Box" Alice and Chains
With fast guitar riffs, driving double-kick drums, and a tight rhythm section, Ozzy Guy showed just how much focus and discipline metal requires.

Stereo Ghost
Following Ozzy Guy was Stereo Ghost, a teen band specializing in emo rock. Their set included fan favorites such as:
“I Don’t Care” by Fall Out Boy
“Teenagers” by My Chemical Romance (MCR)
Stereo Ghost’s performance was incredibly engaging. They captured the raw feelings and catchy melodies that define emo rock, connecting with the audience through heartfelt lyrics and dynamic guitar riffs.

The Radical Bones
The final act was The Radical Bones, a group and 10 and 11 year old boys that performed a wide range of rock songs spanning several decades. Their set included tunes from:
The Cult
Wolfmother
Creedence Clearwater Revival
This band’s versatility impressed everyone. They moved seamlessly between classic rock, modern rock, and southern rock styles, demonstrating a broad musical education and adaptability.
Final Thoughts on the 2025 Rock-Ready Show
The Summer Rock-Ready Show at Starstruck Farm was a true reflection of what Keen School of Music values most: Nurturing growth, encouraging confidence, and inspiring a lifelong passion for music.
From Hollow Pines’ classic rock sound with a saxophone twist to the intensity of Ozzy Guy and the heartfelt performances from our younger bands, the night highlighted the diversity of our students and the hard work our students put into their craft.
Families saw firsthand how the Rock-Ready program supports students in developing real-world performance skills while building community and confidence along the way.
We are incredibly proud of every student who took the stage and we cannot wait for the next show!
